Section 1
Booking & delivery
How do I book a dumpster in Panama City?
Call (850) 919-4407. There are no forms on this site by design — a two-minute conversation settles the size, the placement and the timing far better than a web form and a callback. Tell us the size you want, we'll deliver it the same or next day depending on availability, you fill it at your own pace, and we come pick it up and haul it away when you're done.
Do you deliver dumpsters throughout Panama City and Bay County?
Yes, we provide dumpster rental services across Panama City and surrounding communities throughout Bay County, including Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, Callaway, Springfield and Parker — the regular route out of our 900 E Baldwin Rd yard. If your address sits just outside that list, call anyway.
How quickly can you deliver?
Same-day or next-day delivery is available in many areas around Panama City when you call early in the day, depending on what's already on the schedule — it's a listed service of its own for a reason. Jobsite swap-outs take priority because a full container can't wait.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
We keep rental periods flexible enough to cover most jobs comfortably. Need it longer than planned? Call and we'll extend it — no penalty for asking.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
No, not as long as we know exactly where you want the container placed. Most customers just tell us over the phone or leave a note, and we place it exactly where you asked without needing you on site for either the drop or the pickup.
Can I get the container swapped mid-job?
Yes. A swap drops an empty container and takes the full one in the same visit. On a live jobsite, tell us your expected fill rate at the start and we'll schedule swaps in advance rather than waiting for the call.
Section 2
Sizes & capacity
What dumpster size is best for remodeling projects in Panama City?
Most kitchen and bathroom remodels fit well in a 15-yard or 20-yard dumpster. Larger renovation projects or full home cleanouts often call for a 30-yard dumpster. Describe the scope when you call and we'll size it exactly rather than guess.
What sizes do you carry?
Five: 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard roll-offs, each with its own real capacity range — roughly 50–70 bags in a 10 yard up to 230–250 bags in a 40 yard. The 10 yard suits small cleanouts, roofing shingles and tight driveways; the 30 and 40 yard cover whole-home cleanouts and large construction or commercial jobs. Full dimensions and comparisons live on our dumpster sizes page.
Which size fits a roofing tear-off?
A 10 yard fits most roofing-shingle tear-offs — it's the size built for that exact job. Tell us the roof's square footage and how many layers are coming off and we'll confirm it fits before delivery day. Our roofing tear-off sizing guide walks through it in more detail.
Which size handles a whole-home cleanout or a big renovation?
A 30 yard is the usual answer for whole-home projects and office cleanouts; a 40 yard steps up further for large builds and commercial or industrial jobs. If you're between two sizes, describe the job and we'll point you the right way.
Can heavy materials like concrete, dirt or roofing shingles go in any size?
Heavy debris like concrete, dirt, brick and tile is best kept to a 10 or 15 yard container — those sizes are built for the weight. A bigger box fills to its weight allowance on heavy material long before it looks full.
Section 3
Pricing & process
How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Panama City FL?
Pricing depends on dumpster size, debris type, and rental period. We keep affordable dumpster rental front and center with flat-rate options — one number covering delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal, given to you by phone for your specific job, free of charge.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. We quote a flat rate up front with no surprise charges tacked on afterward. If a job looks likely to change the number — heavier debris than expected, a longer rental — we tell you before it happens, not after.
Do you charge extra for a longer rental?
We'd far rather extend a rental than have you rush a job or overfill the container. Call if you need more time and we'll tell you what it involves before you commit.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is arranged when your booking is confirmed — no cash handling required on delivery day.
Section 4
What can and can't go in
What items are not allowed in the dumpster?
Hazardous liquids, chemicals, fuels, batteries, tires, and refrigerants are not permitted. If you're unsure about a specific item, ask when you call — one prohibited item can get a whole load rejected, so it's worth flagging before it goes in.
What can go in the dumpster?
Most renovation and cleanout material: wood, drywall, tile and flooring; furniture; general household junk; yard waste like branches and clippings (kept separate — see below); roofing shingles; and most household appliances that don't contain refrigerant.
Can I fill the dumpster above the rim?
No — debris has to stay level with or below the top rim. An overfilled dumpster cannot legally be hauled on the road, and we'll need material removed or a second trip before we can pick it up, which just slows your job down.
What about yard waste specifically?
Branches, soil and landscaping material are exactly what our Yard Waste Dumpster Rental service is built for. Florida requires yard debris to be kept separate from household garbage and construction debris — the same separation Bay County's own Steelfield Road Landfill uses with its dedicated yard-debris area — so just tell us when you book and we'll route it correctly.
What about paint, chemicals or other household hazardous waste?
Those can't go in the dumpster with everything else. Florida doesn't have a PaintCare program the way some other states do, so leftover paint, chemicals, pesticides and similar household hazardous waste should go to Bay County's Steelfield Road Landfill, which accepts HHW from residents in a separate area — not curbside, and not mixed into your container.
Does Bay County provide curbside pickup for this instead?
Not for renovation or construction debris, and not really at all — Bay County's solid-waste division does not provide residential curbside pickup in unincorporated areas. Collection is handled by private haulers like us, which is exactly the gap a dumpster rental is built to fill for anything beyond routine household trash.
Section 5
Permits & property
Do I need a permit to have a dumpster delivered?
In most cases, no, if the container sits entirely on your own private property — a driveway, yard or lot. That covers the large majority of jobs we deliver. Not sure about your address? Ask us and we'll tell you plainly.
What if the container needs to sit on the street in Panama City?
That's where a local placement permit typically becomes relevant. Exact fees and durations haven't been confirmed on our end, so we won't guess at a number — the right call is the City of Panama City Building/Public Works Department if you're inside city limits, or Bay County Building Services if you're in unincorporated Bay County. See our permit guide below for the full picture, or just tell us your street situation when you book.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
It shouldn't, and we take real steps to prevent it. Our driver walks the spot with you before anything moves. If a surface is already cracked or heaving, we'll say so and suggest a better spot rather than press on and hope.
I'm digging for a fence, footings or landscaping — does that affect my dumpster delivery?
Not the delivery itself, but it's worth doing right either way: call Sunshine 811 at 811 (or 1-800-432-4770, sunshine811.com) at least 48 hours before any digging, regardless of whether you're also renting a container from us. Sunshine State One-Call of Florida is the real, legally required call-before-you-dig program under Florida Statutes Chapter 556 — calling a utility company directly does not satisfy that requirement.
Where does the debris actually go?
We route loads to appropriate disposal and recycling facilities serving Panama City and Bay County, and where a job allows it, clean concrete, metal and other recoverable material get routed toward recovery instead of straight disposal. Bay County's own Steelfield Road Landfill keeps separate areas for yard debris, tires, appliances and household hazardous waste — see our Bay County landfill & disposal options guide for the full picture.
The permit rule, straight up
Property vs. public right-of-way
The situation that covers every community we serve across Bay County.
On your own property
A dumpster that sits entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot is how the large majority of jobs we deliver across Panama City and Bay County get set up — placement on private property generally does not trigger a municipal placement permit. If you're not sure exactly where your property line falls, ask us when you book and we'll tell you plainly before the truck ever leaves the yard.
On the street or right-of-way
Placing a container in a public street, a parking lane or anywhere else in the right-of-way is where a local placement permit typically comes into play. Exact fees, paperwork and permitted durations vary by exactly where your address sits, so we won't guess at a number we can't confirm in writing — the right call is the City of Panama City Building/Public Works Department if you're inside city limits, or Bay County Building Services if you're in unincorporated Bay County. Ask us when you book and we'll point you to the right office and help you sort out whether your job even needs one. And if the job also involves digging — a fence line, footings, a new driveway apron — call Sunshine 811 at 811 (or 1-800-432-4770) at least 48 hours before anything goes in the ground, whether or not you're renting from us. Sunshine State One-Call of Florida is the only call that satisfies Florida's underground-facility damage-prevention law (FL Statutes Ch. 556) — calling a utility company directly does not count.
Section 6
Panama City logistics & seasonal planning
Does hurricane season affect scheduling here?
Some, yes. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with the statistical peak roughly mid-August through mid-October. Hurricane Michael made landfall right in that window, on October 10, 2018, near Mexico Beach and Tyndall Air Force Base as a Category 5 storm — the defining event for storm-debris cleanup across Bay County to this day. We stage extra containers around storm events when we can see them coming, but live jobsite swap-outs still take priority over everything else on the schedule. See our hurricane season prep guide for more.
What does "Emerald Coast" actually mean, and why is the company named for it?
It's a real regional nickname, coined in 1983 by a local junior-high student who won a slogan contest with it, and it covers about 100 miles of Panhandle coastline across five counties — Bay County included, not just the Destin area further west. The green-emerald water color is genuine science: fine white quartz sand under clear, shallow Gulf water lets blue light through while yellow bounces back off the pale sand, and the eye blends the two together. It's exactly the water you'll see from St. Andrews State Park, and it's where our own name comes from. See our Emerald Coast guide for the full story.
Is Panama City actually named after the country of Panama?
Only by marketing, not by geography. Developer George Mortimer West chose the name in 1906, capitalizing on public excitement over the Panama Canal's construction — his pitch was that a straight line from Chicago to Panama City, Panama passes almost directly through this stretch of Florida coast. The city was formally incorporated in 1909. Fun local trivia, and true, but the name has no deeper connection to the country beyond that.
What's happening with the downtown Panama City marina rebuild?
Recent reporting indicates the downtown marina — badly damaged by Hurricane Michael — is in the middle of an active, multi-phase rebuild, alongside broader downtown redevelopment efforts. Because this is a fast-moving, current story that keeps changing month to month, we'd rather point you to the city's own current-projects updates for firm dates and figures than pin down specifics here. See our downtown marina district guide for renovation-debris considerations if your job is nearby.
Do you cover Bay County communities outside Panama City itself?
Yes — Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, Callaway, Springfield and Parker are all on our regular route out of the 900 E Baldwin Rd yard, alongside Panama City itself. Each has its own guide on our blog if you want community-specific detail.
